As always, an awesome weeks holiday in Greece. This time on the island of Skopelos. Amazing how much fun you can have with just a travel rod, a spinning reel and a small bag of lures.
Fishing was a pretty casual affair. I did zero research and consequently didn’t have any targets for this trip, but really enjoyed exploring the various marks where I found myself with an hour or two. It was a holiday after all. There are a number of excellent harbours to fish, providing stress free fishing. I caught 11 different species – a fraction of the species I saw while I was snorkeling. There’s lots to go for.
Highlights included grouper, amberjack, a bright red scorpion fish and a decent sized scad.

Any marks you’d care to share? Thanks.

Hi Mike. It was 6 years ago and sadly I don’t have immediate memories of where I fished, but as I said in my blog, I just turned up and looked out for fishy looking spots. There were lots. Google satellite view is a godsend if you’d prefer to prep.
