What colour Isome worms work best?

Best Colour Isome Worms
We all have our favourites when it comes to flavoured lures like Power Isome and Gulp Sandworm, but a question I see pop up again and again is, “what colour isome worms work best?” I thought it might be useful to share my catch data from the past few years. More

Good For Species

Bass for Dan Sissons

Lure Caught Cuckoo Wrasse
Dan's Baillons Wrasse

Dan and I had a good day on the boat up East, chasing species on lures and artificials. Last count was 14 between us with the highlights being a Baillons for Dan and a Cuckoo Wrasse for myself. A boat Tompot is always pretty cool as well. More

Scad Madness

Horse Mackerel

It’s that time of year once again. The Scad (Horse Mackerel) have descended on the South Coast in numbers and offer great sport for the light lure angler. I’ve already had good sport on the boat during the daytime and from the shore at night. Have a go for them if you can.

Catching Baillon’s Wrasse

Baillons Wrasse
Baillon's Wrasse Close Up

Caught a couple of beautiful Baillon’s Wrasse from the boat using the new C-map Reveal charts to find a suitable hole in the reef. Used a short dropshot rig presenting a small piece of Gulp Slim Sandworm just off the bottom.

About Light Rock Fishing

Light Rock Fishing, or LRF as it’s more commonly known means different things to different people. Essentially it’s ultra light lure fishing – requiring skill and finesse. It’s the perfect way to hone your general lure fishing skills and continues all year round. No longer do you need to pack up your lure fishing tackle in winter, once traditional sport species like Bass disappear. For others, like me, it’s the ideal fishing discipline to target new and interesting species, helping us to notch-up record levels of species each season. To all though, young and old, experienced or beginner, it means incredibly fun fishing. Get involved!
