Tip for Split Shot Rig
A small but useful tip for using the Split Shot Rig. If you suffer from your split shot sliding out of place, thread a tiny section of rubber rig tube up the line before clamping the shot over it.
How To Rig A Tiny Soft Plastic Lure On A Jig Head
Here’s a pictorial example of how to rig a tiny 1-inch soft plastic shad (paddletail) on an equally tiny size 10, 1 gram jig head. The lure seen here is a HTO Stink Pots Paddle Tail and the jig head is a HTO Maikuro Head.

Jika Rig Options
The Jika Rig is a great option for heavy cover when you want to fish a lure close to the bottom – which is essentially what rockfishing or wrasse fishing is. The Jika rig falls vertically, meaning it punches through weed well and limits the chance of getting hung up. Traditionally, a Jika rig is made from three components – an offset hook, a split ring and a weight – although there are some options which I’ll cover further down.
