A nice Ruffe punk caught on a cold February day. You really need a size 10 jig head, or smaller for targeting Ruffe with jigging techniques. They are aggressive, little predators, only really let down by a fairly small mouth. It won’t stop them trying to eat larger lures but unless you scale down the presentation your odds of a hook-up are slim. Action doesn’t need to be too slow but keep your focus localised to an area. Say one square metre at a time. Home in on the bites.
