As always, an awesome weeks holiday in Greece. This time on the island of Skopelos. Amazing how much fun you can have with just a travel rod, a spinning reel and a small bag of lures. More
I was lucky enough to find a couple of these juvenile grouper lurking at the bottom of a quay in Skopelos, Greece. I believe them to be Goldblotch Grouper (Epinephelus costae), which I think is a first for me. You can’t help but love grouper. A proper rockfish! They both aggressively took small paddletails fished on 1g jigheads.
Probably the best sport I had in Skopelos was that offered by a tenacious little pack of juvenile Amberjack. Not particularly hard to hook-up once you found them – the faster the better! Super aggressive and great fun once hooked. More
