As always, an awesome weeks holiday in Greece. This time on the island of Skopelos. Amazing how much fun you can have with just a travel rod, a spinning reel and a small bag of lures.

Grouper Game in Greece
I was lucky enough to find a couple of these juvenile grouper lurking at the bottom of a quay in Skopelos, Greece. I believe them to be Goldblotch Grouper (Epinephelus costae), which I think is a first for me. You can’t help but love grouper. A proper rockfish! They both aggressively took small paddletails fished on 1g jigheads.
LRF Amberjack
Probably the best sport I had in Skopelos was that offered by a tenacious little pack of juvenile Amberjack. Not particularly hard to hook-up once you found them – the faster the better! Super aggressive and great fun once hooked.
Sanibel Lighthouse, Florida
Myself, Paul Fenech and Paul Dennis shared a really enjoyable afternoon on Sanibel Island. After acquiring our saltwater licenses we went exploring and ended up at Sanibel Lighthouse – an angling spot of some fame as it turns out. However, as luck would have it we found ourselves there on Mothers Day and the place was pretty packed with beachgoers. It didn’t take long to see why.
Shore Fishing Fort Myers Beach, Florida
Just back from 5 unforgettable days in Florida, based in the Fort Myers Beach area, close to the stunning Sanibel Island and the Ding Darling wildlife reserve.
Light Rock Fishing in Skiathos
Back from our summer holiday in the Greek Isles and the fishing was as fruitful as always. It was my first time to Skiathos but finding fish was easy. They were everywhere!
