One of my favourite captures of all time. Dolphin Fish, aka the Mahi Mahi or Dorado. The third one I’ve hooked whilst fishing on the Greek islands during September, but the first to keep a hook hold. Unbelievably I hooked it on a scaled down Split Shot Rig and size 12 hook. It took a 2-inch Aji lure by Reins. The young Dolphin Fish crashed into my swim while I was targeting minis close inshore. Once cast and a fast retrieve and he was on the line, jumping somersaults, but the tiny hook held. A schoolboy dream realised. My first Dolphin Fish!
