Pollack
Pollack are one of the core target species of LRF in the British Isles. Member of the cod family, most of the Pollack we catch are around one or two pounds in weight, but much bigger specimens do turn up from time to time – normally in the colder months. Pollack can be caught on a broad range of lures and techniques, but they are especially susceptible to sink-and-draw methods with metals and paddletails.

Catching up (life gets in the way of blogging)
Trying to find time to write a bit about my fishing is more difficult than actually getting fishing but I’ll delve back into the mind tank and see what I can come up with.
Xesta After Burner Mini Casting Jigs
Really like these new Xesta After Burner Mini casting jigs, sourced from Art of Fishing while I was down in Cornwall. Not as cheap as the Quantum Mahi jigs but at £5.99 they aren’t the most expensive either. Great looking jig with a manic fluttering action. I took my recent Launce on the 7g version, as well as a ton of Pollock.
Fishing with Kouichi Murai of Breaden Japan
By a strange chain of events, I had the absolute pleasure of fishing with Kouichi Murai, CEO of the Breaden tackle company of Japan. My new friend Shota Jenkins Konno had asked if we could go Light Rock Fishing while they were both over in Europe and of course I jumped at the chance.
Mixed Light Boat Fishing
Found some good fun out on the boat. With small neap tides and light winds in the morning we were able to fish LRF tackle both at anchor and on the drift.
