Matt and the team over at Prime Angling have been super busy finding all the latest and greatest lure fishing tackle over in Japan. It’s been a while since I did one of these so I thought I’d try and pull out some special items that grabbed my eye. Here goes:
Metal Jigs
Using Metal Jigs is one of the most active and exciting lure fishing methods in the LRF arsenal. Metal Jigs are available in a wide array of shapes, sizes and colours and can be fitted with small treble hooks, singles, or assists. They are normally cast out or jigged vertically in deep water. Sink-and-draw is a successful technique and fish will often attack metal lures on-the-drop.

JungleGym Jaco Ichi Jig
A nice Corkwing Wrasse that has shown its predatory instincts towards this rather nice 1g JungleGym Jaco Ichi metal jig. Assist hooks here are the excellent DJ-95 twins from Decoy Japan.
HTO Tic Tac 3g
What a sensational run for the lightest HTO Tic Tac! HTO’s 3g Tic Tac is a micro metal jig which really proved itself this last week, catapulting it to one of my favourite lures of all time. Looking at the stats it’s easy to see why.
New JDM Products at Prime Angling
Earlier this year, myself and the team from Prime Angling visited the greatest tackle show on the planet – the Osaka Fishing Show, in Japan. Part of the reason we went was to pick out the hottest, new lure fishing equipment for the new Prime Angling website. Of course, LRF tackle featured heavily!
