Last week felt like that time of year that micro metal jigs become viable for almost every species. There’s an insane amount of small baitfish around. Sprat and juvenile herring are being joined by tiny sand smelt and it feels like every other fish is locked on to this annual windfall. I tied on a 5g HTO Shore Jig in Candy at the start of one day and the conditions were so lush it stayed there all day.
Included in the 25 fish tally were 6 species, including Black Bream and Corkwing Wrasse, made targetable by my hand-made assist hooks.
