Out on the boat. Obligatory LRF over slack water resulted in Pollack – entirely expected at this time of year. Briefly tried to target one of a small number of early Garfish but this only ended in frustrating, if not entertaining follows.

Early Swanage Trip
With the sea temp approaching that magic 10 degrees and a lush forecast, I ventured back down to Dorset to see if any fish were feeding. Thankfully they were.

LRF on Swanage Pier
What a cracking bank holiday Monday it was down in Dorset!
First of this year’s trips down to Swanage Pier and the first of the fish. It was clear that the Scorpos were back with a vengeance. Team Taylor (Mark and Sam) were into double figures by the time I got there. Young Sam was rinsing us. Well done Sam.
PB Ruffe
Happening with increased frequency lately. I wonder if smaller fish become more predatory during the peak spawning periods? Anyway, this one was a clonker of a Ruffe!
