Back to back BLAC. Sunday saw round 6 of the qualifiers fished on a huge stretch of the Grand Union Canal, close to the M25.

BLAC Q5 Hungerford
Exhausted. But what a cracking, fishing filled weekend that was.
Saturday saw nearly 50 anglers descend upon my local stretch of the Kennet & Avon Canal at Hungerford for the 5th British Lure Angling Championships qualifier this year.

Jules has pulled out all the stops with new venues, a street fishing league and four saltwater events, including a final. It’s the perfect time for the freshwater anglers to get their own back on the LRFers ;0)

Alderney 24 Hour Lure Only Species Hunt 2014
The weather gods were not best pleased with the group of anglers that ventured out to fish the 2014 Alderney 24 Hour Lure Only Species Hunt. Strong easterly winds hampered everyone’s progress the whole weekend but did nothing to dampen everyone’s enthusiasm. Alderney has a lot to offer, even in tough conditions.
BLAC Q6 Regents Canal Camden
Early start on Saturday. Don’t normally catch a train to go fishing, but it was the latest round of BLAC qualifiers… in central London.

Cornish Lure Festival 2014
It’s a week since the kick off of the 2014 Cornish Lure Festival and I have to say I’m not sure I’ve recovered yet – it was EPIC
After entering the Species Hunt competition for the first time last year, I’d managed to pass on my enthusiasm for the event to mates, Dan and Chris. Estelle enjoyed last year, even as a non-fisher, and was along for the ride again too. So with a rough plan built around the far from perfect forecast, and the two productive marks I’d garnered last year, we all met up in deepest, darkest Cornwall. Exciting!
