Trout on Alderney

I definitely wasn’t expecting this from the sea angling nirvana of Alderney. As such, probably my favourite fish of our trip.

For those visiting, there is a pretty carp lake situated in a flooded quarry (Corblets Quarry) with beautiful, natural surroundings. Just metres from the beach as it happens. The carp are a relatively recent addition, but the lake has a population of Brown Trout that have survived for decades, I would imagine. This one was a really old fish. As nice as it was, we saw some truly huge fish jumping!

Looking forward to giving it another go some time.
