Brown Trout
The Brown Trout is the perfect adversary for ultralight spinning with LRF gear. Widespread, aggressive and quick, the Brown Trout will attack all manner of lures from spinners and spoons, to soft-plastic creatures and paddletails. They find it hard to resist an erratic action. Best of all, these fish fight hard all the way to the net and are one of our most beautiful native freshwater species.
Apres BLAC Trouting
After the Hungerford BLAC event on Saturday, Newbury angler Mark Taylor kindly offered to show me around some of his local trout waters. I duly obliged.

Brown Trout on Reins Lure
Quiet on the River Kennet this morning but managed a nice Brown Trout of 42cm. Good fun on my Garbolino Magister Micro Lure rod. Lure was a Reins Saturn G-Tail in Lemon Pepper fished on a Daiwa jighead fished fairly slow. The fish went back fine – the second escape it had had judging by the marks on both flanks
