With the sea temp approaching that magic 10 degrees and a lush forecast, I ventured back down to Dorset to see if any fish were feeding. Thankfully they were.More
ballan wrasse
Ballan Wrasse are one of my favourite species of fish to target on the lure. The Ballan Wrasse is a real thug and bigger specimens will test your tackle and skill to the limit. They come in a huge array of beautiful colours – from brown to red, to green, to gold. Most often found around rock and weed, they can however turn up almost anywhere there is some structure for them to inhabit. Because of their environment we most often use weedless techniques to target Ballan Wrasse, limiting the odds of us getting snagged in their surroundings.
Birthday Wrassing

New for 2015. I was super-stoked to see a proper rockfishing lure enter the range of Reins lures offered by FTF, this year. A collaboration with Deps no less. Behold, the Reins BM Rock creature!More
Target: Monster Rockfish
What an incredible day down on the Purbecks, fishing among the fossils. Finally got to survey a stretch of coast I’ve wanted to fish for a number of years now. I definitely won’t leave it as long next time. The area around Lulworth, in Dorset is wrasse heaven. More
Reins Aji Nyoro
One of the highlights from Saturday’s session at Swanage Pier was catching on the new Reins Aji Nyoro lure. New for the 2015 French Touch Fishing catalogue, the Aji Nyoro is a tiny 50mm eel replica. There’s a huge amount of tiny sandeel around at the moment and the Nyoro is the perfect lure to match the hatch. More
Dawlish LRF
With an extended bank holiday weekend and a decent forecast we jumped in the van and headed down the A303 to Devon, for a spot of camping. Dawlish Warren was our chosen destination and although this wasn’t a fishing trip, of course the lure rods came along too. More
