This was a nice find on the Daiwa France stand – the beautiful, brown and orange Silver Creek 2504H. Okay, it’s a trout spinning reel and I couldn’t find any reference to the Silver Creek being saltwater friendly, so best to assume it’s freshwater-only. But, it is a lightweight stunner with a genuine 04-size shallow spool.
Daiwa’s Silver Creek 2504 is tuned for light weight and light line. There’s Zaion, Air Rotor and Air Bail keeping the weight to only 225g for this model. And the spool houses the ATD drag, which is a must softening the lightning fast surges of trout on light line.
