BLAC Q10 Bristol Docks
Ended my full-on fishing weekend at the British Lure Angling Championships qualifier at Bristol Docks. Such a cool looking water. Just a shame only a small part of it is (officially) open to fish. Be a good place to pleasure fish I reckon. Two Perch over 40cm came out during competition. Clearly a healthy water.
Reins Aji Nyoro
One of the highlights from Saturday’s session at Swanage Pier was catching on the new Reins Aji Nyoro lure. New for the 2015 French Touch Fishing catalogue, the Aji Nyoro is a tiny 50mm eel replica. There’s a huge amount of tiny sandeel around at the moment and the Nyoro is the perfect lure to match the hatch.
Be Free Texas Rig
In my last post I mentioned I was playing with JungleGym’s ‘Be Free Texas’ rig. So far so good. It’s a glorified weedless Texas rig but using JungleGym’s Bean Sinker and their ringed offset hook (Ring Rocker). With the addition of stop a few inches above the weight (Move Stopper) you have a kind of bolt rig.
BLAC Q9 Warwick GUC
Firstly a massive thanks to John Cheyne and the LACC for making today’s BLAC qualifier happen after problems with availability on the original venue.
Was a tough day with low levels of visibility but I got lucky with an early run of nice Perch before the first of the boats came through. It was then followed by a demoralising, fish-less 4 hours before I had another bite! I really find this water tough! Still, it was good enough for second place on the day.
BLAC Q6 London GUC
Back to back BLAC. Sunday saw round 6 of the qualifiers fished on a huge stretch of the Grand Union Canal, close to the M25.
BLAC Q5 Hungerford
Exhausted. But what a cracking, fishing filled weekend that was.
Saturday saw nearly 50 anglers descend upon my local stretch of the Kennet & Avon Canal at Hungerford for the 5th British Lure Angling Championships qualifier this year.
