The Aquawave Shad 1.3 is probably my most successful lure for catching Ruffe. Apart from just being small, the 1.3″ Shad is extremely supple and buoyant, so I think it helps the Ruffe engulf the lure more easily.
I captured this poor Corkwing Wrasse that was host to a fairly large Anilocra parasite – a type of isopod. Was able to carefully remove the parasite and release the fish.
Had a bit of a battle with this bruiser. A decent Giant Goby found in a boulder field at low tide, in Cornwall. Fooled the brute with an AquaWave Ami in Sodium colour.
