Managed to find a company that regularly imports Japanese magazines to the UK. It was pricey, but rude not to order a copy of Lure Magazine Salt – the first time I’ve got my hands on this mag. Sound investment. Lots of goodies inside!

Fishing with Kouichi Murai of Breaden Japan
By a strange chain of events, I had the absolute pleasure of fishing with Kouichi Murai, CEO of the Breaden tackle company of Japan. My new friend Shota Jenkins Konno had asked if we could go Light Rock Fishing while they were both over in Europe and of course I jumped at the chance.
Salon Europeen des Peches en Mer 2013
We had a splendid time in France at the Salon Europeen des Peches en Mer 2013. There were a few noticeable absentees this year (including Shimano & Garbolino) but the show centrepiece – ‘Focus on Japan’ – more than made up for it, with dozens of Japanese prostaff, tackle designers and reps showing off some of the very best lure fishing tackle in the world.
