Lure Caught Lesser Weever
I’ve somehow beautifully avoided Weevers until now. But very pleased to tick off the Lesser Weever on this year’s species list. Numero 20 in fact. Lure was an XL Marukyu Isome fished on a 10g jighead on the drift.
Watch out youngsters (and not so youngsters) – these are poisonous! Not worthy of abuse, but watch yourselves and go careful.
Light Rock Fishing in Rhodes
I’ve said it before but worth repeating, I think light rock fishing gear is perfect for fun fishing on your summer holidays.
Myself and the good lady headed off to Rhodes in Greece for a week and of course I packed some LRF equipment – mainly Reins lures and a pack of Isome.
Cornish Lure Festival 2013
The 2013 Cornish Lure Festival – what a fantastic event!
July 5th saw myself and the other half set off early for Cornwall. With sunny weather and low winds forecast, it didn’t look perfect for the Bass comp but for me and the species hunting crew, it looked bloody perfect!
Fishing with Kouichi Murai of Breaden Japan
By a strange chain of events, I had the absolute pleasure of fishing with Kouichi Murai, CEO of the Breaden tackle company of Japan. My new friend Shota Jenkins Konno had asked if we could go Light Rock Fishing while they were both over in Europe and of course I jumped at the chance.
Record Shanny?
Another possible British record to add to the monster Black Goby Dan had in February. I had this mega Shanny in Old Portsmouth on a section of Gulp Sandworm. Photo doesn’t do it justice – it was huge! (it went back)
