A UK Comber! This one couldn’t be further from LRF. A 50g HTO Flip Flop metal jig in nearly 200ft of water. But I do like to keep track of my lure caught species on this website, and it’s a timely moment to highlight that the Comber is fast becoming a new LRF target from the shore, with a few lucky anglers catching them this season.
It’s incredible to catch one in UK waters after so many in warmer, Mediterranean climes. A really special fish.
Thanks to Kieren on Unleashed Fishing Charters for helping hunt them down.

Good catch Adam, well done for getting this species this quickly as it comes to our shores? It looks a bit out of place after fishing for them in the Med, but the Giant Goby is another welcome addition? When are you going to fling the Flip Flop at a Tuna?

Thanks Bill. It doesn’t float my boat. Love seeing them. Just not sure I need to attach myself to one. Maybe a 10lber! :0)
