Had the pleasure of fishing LRF with Ben Field from The Art of Fishing on his home patch, North Cornwall. Very different fishing to my own and I learned a lot about fishing this unsheltered coastline. We caught Pollack, Mackerel and Ben had a small Bass. I got a beating – but I will be back! :o)
Even the humble Pouting can prove sporting on appropriate gear. Pout will attack suitably sized jigs like the Quantum Mahi and Bass Pro XPS seen here
Enjoyable day in Portsmouth light rock fishing. Huge amount of Shanny on the split shot rig, plus some small wrasse. Finished with some dropshot action chasing Scorpions. Non-stop fun!
Another possible British record to add to the monster Black Goby Dan had in February. I had this mega Shanny in Old Portsmouth on a section of Gulp Sandworm. Photo doesn’t do it justice – it was huge! (it went back)
Fished a very famous south coast mark at the weekend. Unsurprisingly the structure was holding Bass. Dan had this one on LRF gear
We got out in the boat yesterday and although big tides, managed to flex the LRF gear briefly at slack tide. An inshore wreck was home to a shoal of decent Scad (Horse Mackerel) so we had a blast with small metal jigs. Aji-tastic!
My first lure caught Mullet. Saw a shoal feeding at the base of a flood drain, free-lined an artificial worm back to them and wallop, we were on! Lure was half a Lip Ripperz Trout Wormz dipped in Jacks LRF Special Sauce
