A small but useful tip for using the Split Shot Rig. If you suffer from your split shot sliding out of place, thread a tiny section of rubber rig tube up the line before clamping the shot over it. The added friction generated by the rubber surface will keep the split shot in the desired position, but allow you to move it with a little bit of force. It also protects thin line from damage caused by sharp edges in the shot. I’ve used a few different brands. Look for silicone tube in the smallest diametre you can find.
