I've somehow beautifully avoided Weevers until now. But very pleased to tick off the Lesser Weever on this year's species list. Numero 20 in fact. Lure was an XL Marukyu Isome fished on a 10g jighead on the drift.
Watch out youngsters (and not so youngsters) - these are poisonous! Not worthy of abuse, but watch yourselves and go careful.
I've said it before but worth repeating, I think light rock fishing gear is perfect for fun fishing on your summer holidays.

Black Bream caught on a Cultiva metal micro jig
Not an unusual fish for most LRF anglers but this one (and a few others) was noteworthy because it was caught in 10m of water from the boat. An scaled up split shot rig (5g) was used to present an Ecogear Aqua Straight.
As we fast approach May we are finally getting April's fishing. This time last year I had boated a few Bream and registered several more species but whether it's from boat or shore, this year has been tough. The bonus of not having anything silver to fish for yet is that the Plaice have demanded more attention when boat fishing and with the right set-up are entirely target-able with plastics.
