Bass on Tiny Hardbaits

Bass on UL Hardbait
With an almost unlimited stream of shoal bass around at the moment it pays to experiment. For me, the most satisfying technique is casting tiny hardbaits, getting slammed in plain sight! Spectacular fun on a 7g LRF rod.

LRF Really Getting Going

Corkwing on HTO Knight Worm

Really feels like LRF is firing now. The water feels alive. Loads of mini sandeel and fry about. With it a huge amount of aggressive species. Good array of fish hitting non-flavoured lures. Nice to see the shoal bass have returned. Could this be why I didn’t catch a single goby all weekend? Or maybe just out-competed by the wrasse.

West Bay Harbour
Aji Ringer Shad Flounder

Saturday night saw me hatching a plan to administer a Flounder smackdown. Wedged between my Lulworth wrasse-a-thon in the morning and the Bristol BLAC qualifier the next day, I settled on West Bay, in Dorset. Read more
