Very happy with this one today. Fished ‘slightly’ bigger because of the windy conditions and it inadvertently paid off with this beautiful 40cm Perch. My best (longest) from the Kennet and Avon for some time. It went 2lb 10 on the scales.

Today saw 32 anglers, myself included, fish the inaugural Cotswold Predator Classic at Watermark Fisheries, near Cirencester.
With perhaps the hardest frost of the winter so far and after a week of torrential rain that saw the venue flood, the conditions could have been better. However the wind had finally dropped and it was a nice, sunny day to be outside after all the Christmas festivities. Read more
Still enjoying the freshwater side of things. LRF tackle is bang on for targeting Perch, with plenty of small fish and the chance of a lunker up to 4lb.
I thought I’d hooked one of those large Perch, but after a plucky fight this large, 47cm Bream bobbed up. A first for me, so I was as happy as I would have been with an equivalent sized Perch.Read more
Winter LRF continuing in earnest with some perch fishing in my local stretch of canal. An increase in air temperature after the recent cold snap seemed to get them going and I managed 6 in an hour or so. Nothing massive but still good fun on light tackle. Lures used were Ecogear Bug Ants and Lip Ripperz Trout Wormz.
