Fishing The Frozen Canal

Kennet & Avon Perch

With a crappy forecast ruling out the boat this weekend, Dan and I headed to a remote section of the Kennet & Avon canal for spot of Perch fishing. Read more

Neko For Perch

Perch on Neko Rig

A change is as good as a rest, so this weekend I grabbed a packet of the AquaWave Straight, some nail weights and hooks, and spent some time on the canal fishing the Neko Rig. Read more

Weymouth Christmas LRF Species Hunt

Weymouth Christmas LRF Species Hunt

Hats off to Andy Mytton for a first class LRF competition and meet-up, drawing in anglers from all over the country. 41cm 3lb 2oz Perch

3lb 2oz Canal Perch

Over the moon! Certainly the longest Perch I've had out the Kennet & Avon Canal. 41cm to the fork. 3lb 2oz. In beautiful condition. Where has she been hiding all this time?!

Lure was the HTO Flail. This time in orange. An active decision on colour after seeing how well Dan did on worm imitations the week before.

George's homegrown HTO brand has made it possible for thousands of people to try out LRF and ultralight fishing, without breaking the bank, discovering the addictive fun of these methods. By all accounts, the HTO Rockfish UL remains one of the best selling spinning rods of all time. So, when my threat of taking George Perch fishing on the Kennet & Avon finally looked like a goer last week, we were both really looking forward to it. Read more
