Fish Street

While I won’t remember the 2016 Cornish Lure Festival as one of my finest angling achievements, the event once again demonstrated why it is a must-do competition on the lure fishing calendar. Read more

LRF Really Getting Going

Corkwing on HTO Knight Worm

Really feels like LRF is firing now. The water feels alive. Loads of mini sandeel and fry about. With it a huge amount of aggressive species. Good array of fish hitting non-flavoured lures. Nice to see the shoal bass have returned. Could this be why I didn’t catch a single goby all weekend? Or maybe just out-competed by the wrasse.

More Species Showing

Tompot Blenny Langstone Harbour

Not getting much fishing in at the moment, but another hour here and there is at least keeping the species coming. Read more

Scorpo Smackdown

Long Spined Scorpion Fish

Wrasse Fishing Start Point

Wrasse on HTO Leethal
Start Point, Devon
Spent the long weekend in Start Bay, Devon and I must say it was beautiful. Although I didn’t get much fishing in, I did have a quick go for the wrasse south of Start Point. What an amazing looking spot. The areas of coarse sand between the many rocky outcrops made me excited at the prospects of what other species may be present. As did the visible shoals of sandeel. I look forward to returning at a later date with more time to fish the area.
